What is the Big Soup Share?

The Big Soup Share begin in 2017 and invited schools to celebrate 10 years of the Campaign for School Gardening by cooking their harvested veg into a tasty soup. Since then, the Soup Share has grown and now we welcome community gardening groups, businesses/offices, charities, individuals, you name it!

Why take part?

The Big Soup Share is the perfect chance to celebrate all the kindness that has been shown through this unprecedented time or another way to support those in your community who need it the most.

  • Create or strengthen links with your local community
  • Connect with people who are isolating by arranging on online video call
  • Thank any volunteers you work with, or find new ones to help in the future
  • Promote your school garden to the rest of your school, group or community
  • Boost morale in your office or link your business to a local community group
  • Raise funds by asking for donations towards the soup or by selling plants, cakes etc.
  • Gain press coverage by sending information of your Soup Share to your local paper or radio station
  • Use your Big Soup Share to support your Level 5 application in the School Gardening Awards

You can use your Big Soup Share to achieve whatever goal you like but ultimately, we want you to have fun, support others and stay safe!

A special thank you to The Steel Charitable Trust for supporting the Big Soup Share in 2019 and 2020.
