Schools' Wildlife Homes Competition

RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival

About the competition:

The Scarecrows competition is changing! This year, in a bid to raise awareness of biodiversity and native species decline, the focus of the Hampton Court Garden Festival schools' competition will be on wildlife homes.

Pre-schools and primary schools in London and the South East are invited to get creative and design a wildlife home for display at RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival from Monday 1 - Sunday 7 July 2019.

The competition theme is 'It's a Wild World'. Whether you choose to build a bug hotel, bee hive, dormouse nest, bird box, butterfly or hedgehog house, we want you to get your creative minds whirring for this year's Hampton Court Festival!

Who can enter?

Entries are welcome from all pre-schools and primary schools (up to age 11 or year 6) from London and the South East (Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, West Sussex, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Middlesex and Surrey).

Schools must be also registered with the RHS Campaign for School Gardening. If you're not registered yet, click here.

There is no fee for entry. Only one entry per school is permitted.

Prizes are available for the three most popular wildlife homes as voted for by the visitors to the show.
