From small changes to bigger plastic projects, there are loads of ways you can save money and save plastic from landfill.

As the public becomes more aware of the environmental impact of plastic, you might be trying to reduce, reuse and recycle your single-use plastics. We've put together our top 8 ways to re-purpose plastic in your garden, giving it a new lease of life.

  • Build a bottle greenhouse: Bottle greenhouses are a great example of recycling in action. They enable you to involve the whole school in collecting the bottles and provide an opportunity for maths and design technology lessons
  • Make a seed storage box: Seeds should be stored in a cold, dry place for maximum shelf life. Make a protective storage box and get organised - sorting seed packets according to the month the seeds should be sown

Are you doing great things for the environment in your garden? Let us know. Drop us an email and your group could feature on our website: schoolgardening@rhs.org.uk.
