About Rebecca

Rebecca has worked hard both within school and in her own time to develop the school garden into a beautiful and productive growing area. As part of this project, Rebecca has been involved in developing gardening knowledge throughout the whole school community and she has not only inspired gardening within our school, she has inspired the children to love gardens and everything that grows within them.

Judges' comments

“Rebecca is a great ambassador for school gardening and has shown how simple it can be to get children, parents and grandparents all working together in the garden, which not only builds social skills but can teach the whole community how to lead a healthier lifestyle.”
“Rebecca is enthusiastic and is dedicated to giving all pupils at the school access to gardening and growing their own food. She works hard to engage other schools and bring the community together which is such a wonderful thing to see.”
“A wonderful role model for the children and very dedicated to giving all children opportunities to garden. It is obvious the children adore her and love spending time outdoors getting closer to the environment around them.”
